Information for disabled visitors
Hoo Zoo welcomes any adults or children with disabilities. All disabled visitors come in at the usual rate, carers are free with a carers ID. We do advise that group visitors prebook to ensure that we can provide designated inside seating for lunch.
Hoo Zoo is relatively flat with no large undulations or slopes but the pathways are gravel and can be difficult for some wheelchair users.
We have limited disabled car parking so we advise arriving early to avoid disappointment.
Disabled toilets are available in our main toilet block.
We have both ECV scooters and child strollers available for hire. These must be booked online here.
Assistance Dogs
Although dogs are not allowed on site, assistance dogs are. We do require all assistance dogs to be well behaved and on leads at all times. Any barking dogs will be asked to leave – this is because we have animals on site that were rescued from situations including dog attacks. Any mess must be picked up by the dog owner.
For the safety of our animals and the safety of your dog, there are certain areas that assistance dogs are not allowed. These are laid out below – any pathways beyond the ‘No Dog’ symbol are not accessible by assistance dogs. This includes Hoo-Rassic World and Land of the Beasts as they are situated past our Wolf and Lynx habitats and any walkthrough animal habitats.
